The Gilded Willow

The Gilded Willow is a place where the old becomes new again and the wear and tear of time just tell a story. A place where talents, creativeness, uniqueness, and rarity are celebrated. We love old and new alike and feel every life is better lived with a balance of the two.
The Gilded Willow is family owned by Randall and Peggy Tilson and their daughter, Christina Shook.
Randall and Peggy consider themselves natives of Franklin, having lived 36 years in the beautiful mountain town. They have two children and three grandchildren. Randall has spent the past 40 years in the landscaping and wholesale nursery business. Over the past five years, he has been able to spend more time focusing on his love of antiques. He has collected for many more years and has an outstanding collection of fine and rare items available in the store. He enjoys searching auctions, estates, and markets for interesting and unique items. In addition to antiques, Randall has quite an eye for the vintage and rustic pieces, as well.
Peggy worked for many years in the jewelry and fine gemstone market in Highlands, NC. She loves working with the public and meeting people from other places. If you have ever met Peggy, you know she has never met a stranger! She enjoys balancing Randall’s love of rustic with her love of color and beauty. Peggy has extensive knowledge of fine china, glassware, collectibles, and jewelry. Her talents and expertise are seen throughout the selections at The Gilded Willow.
Christina Shook, co-owner of The Gilded Willow, was born and raised in Franklin. Christina currently lives in Watkinsville, Ga with her husband and son. Franklin is still her second home as she and her family spend about half their time there. Christina has been in the Property and Casualty Insurance business for the past 15 years. She has a successful business in the North Georgia and Western North Carolina market. Christina brings a passion for repurposing to The Gilded Willow. She likes to seek out pieces that still have life, but need a little help. She enjoys creating a new purpose for the old, dated, and “unusable”.
The Gilded Willow offers over 12,000 square feet of vendor and consignment space. We also offer seasonal retail collections such as the Burton & Burton line of gifts and decor. Coming soon to The Gilded Willow, is the Rinse Bath and Body line.

Southern Traditions Landscaping LLC

Southern Traditions Landscaping Exceptional Job

Southern Traditions Landscaping was started in 2010, but between our managers/owners, we have had over 100 years of experience in the landscaping industry. We began as a commercial and high-end residential installation company. In fall of 2012, a decision was made to start a maintenance division. Since then we have seen exponential growth every year in both the residential and commercial side. We believe that the quality of our work and outstanding customer service sets us apart from our competition. From hotels to rental properties, Southern Traditions can take care of all your landscaping needs!

Southern Traditions Landscaping came to be in a bit of trouble. There website had not been updated and it was compromised and had been for some time. Racking up over 30k pages indexed in Google. It was flagged as hacked and eventually the hosting service shut them down.

This is no joke as it also means that every search result in Google was flooded with hacked links which destroyed any value the website had. After rebuilding the website and applying all necessary SEO it has been able to recover and start actually gaining results on Google. Took about 6 months for it to recover mostly yet it is still not near its potential. Keeping your website up to date is very important as these updates keep hackers at bay.

Now they are back to generating search results and people calling from their website.
